Career Opportunities

Contract Registered Dietitian Job (Talent Pool & Upcoming Postings)

About Us
Kendra Joelle Nutrition is a nutrition services business dedicated to improving access to dietitian services in First Nations communities across Alberta. We work on a hybrid in-person and remote model, partnering directly with community health centres to provide consistent, relationship-based care. Our goal is simple: some access to a dietitian is better than none, and we are committed to bridging that gap.

The Opportunity
We are looking for passionate Registered Dietitians to join our team as subcontractors for upcoming community contract placements starting in Summer/Fall 2026. This is an opportunity to work in Indigenous health with the support of an experienced mentor, while maintaining the flexibility of contract work. New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply as we build our active provider roster.

What the Work Looks Like

  • Flexible schedule built collaboratively between you, Kendra Joelle Nutrition, and the community
  • Hybrid model: a combination of in-person community visits and remote work from your home base
  • In-person time in community, with the remainder of hours delivered virtually
  • Some travel required, including occasional overnight stays for more remote communities
  • Consistent placement: we make every effort to keep the same dietitian working with the same community to support relationship-building and continuity of care
  • Clinical work including individual counselling, group programming, and community health initiatives
  • Focus areas may include diabetes management, prenatal nutrition, pediatric nutrition, and general community programming such as cooking classes and health education

Compensation
Starting at $50/hour for clinical and direct service hours (scale commensurate with experience in community and/or clinical health)

Accommodation and travel expenses covered for overnight travel as required

What We Are Looking For

  • Registered Dietitian in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Alberta
  • Genuine interest in Indigenous health and community-based work
  • Self-directed and comfortable working with some autonomy
  • Own vehicle, valid driver’s licence, and willingness to travel
  • Own computer and personal professional liability insurance
  • Willingness to obtain a clear criminal record check, including vulnerable sector check prior to contract launch
  • New graduates are welcome: mentorship and support are provided

Mentorship & Support
Working in Indigenous health can be incredibly rewarding but also comes with a learning curve. We do not believe in throwing people in the deep end. You will have access to ongoing mentorship from an experienced dietitian with years of in-community Indigenous health experience, regular check-ins, and support navigating the unique context of community-based work.

How to Apply
If this sounds like the right fit for you, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out by email with a brief introduction and your resume. Initial virtual interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis to build our approved roster for upcoming community launches.

Please send resume and introduction to:

When you increase time or intensity, the proportion of carbs on your plate increases. For an easy day, carbs make up about 1/4 of the plate and for a hard day, 1/2 the plate.

Performance plates are a simple way to plan your m Performance plates are a simple way to plan your meals. No measuring or weighing needed, just fill your plate.

This plate is for a hard training day. If you are doing a two-a-day, long run, or long ride, this is the one to use.

Half your plate is carbs like pasta, rice, or bread to fuel your training. A quarter is protein to support muscle repair and building, and the last quarter is colourful foods like vegetables and fruit to cover your micronutrient needs. You can also add a little fat by cooking your protein in some canola or olive oil.
